Cell Mirror – Kiewit Luminarium

May 10, 2023

At Cell Mirror, visitors are presented with a digitally altered silhouette of themselves composed of small, multi-colored dots that represent their body’s cells. As visitors move around in front of the screen, the silhouette of cells moves with them. Alongside the image, thought-provoking phrases and questions are displayed, encouraging visitors to consider what it means to be made up of many cells and how that impacts their sense of self.

Through the Cell Mirror exhibit, visitors will engage with the concept of the human body being composed of smaller parts, specifically cells. By interacting with their silhouette, visitors will explore the relationship between movement and the individual cells that comprise their body. The exhibit aims to spark visitors’ curiosity about the complex nature of the human body and prompt reflection on how it functions.
