At this exhibit, visitors will find a table filled with various loose blocks that come in different polyhedral shapes. On each end of the table, there are stations where visitors can choose from two different “starter” templates. By stacking the blocks on the illuminated starters, visitors can create a tessellated 3D space where each block fits perfectly together.
Objective: Visitors will use spatial reasoning to fit blocks together to fill space in a repeating polyhedral lattice, find satisfaction in the exact fit of the blocks and compare different arrangements of the same blocks using the provided stations.
