This MRI scanner station is the main kiosk of the Animal Hospital, where children can engage in imaginative play as veterinarians. At this exhibit, children can select their favorite stuffed animal and role-play as either the pet owner or the doctor, administering procedures to the toy animal. Each animal is equipped with an RFID chip that can identify, scan, diagnose, and suggest the next play steps for the animal patient.
The main objectives of the Animal Hospital exhibit are:
- To educate children about the inner workings of the human and animal body, including bones, muscles, and organs.
- To encourage children to develop empathy and nurturing skills.
- To demonstrate how tools are used to monitor the health of animals, while also emphasizing that humans are also animals.
