I was tasked with updating this original 100-year-old phone, converting it into an audio exhibit for a historic house. The period themed exhibit features the century-old phone in a resting area of the museum. Visitors will be able to pick up the headset and hear an original audio recording of one of the past owners of the house.
It is capable of playing several different sounds.
Using an Arduino Nano I designed a sound playing circuit that used an SD card reader to store and play MP3 sounds. I added volume control as well.
Using the existing headset and headset switch, I was able to fabricate a new speaker mount for the newer technology.
